The CGV E-SAT 4K is the official Fransat Ultra High Definition satellite receiver, made in France by CGV. It picks up the free French TNT channels broadcast by Fransat from the Eutelsat 5 West B satellite at 5 degrees West, with no subscription and no monthly fee. It suits French households living in the UK, second home owners, and anyone who wants French television at home, in a caravan or in a motorhome.
Every unit we supply comes with a Fransat UHD viewing card in the box, plus a UK three pin power adaptor, so you can plug in and tune in without hunting for a travel plug. The card is valid for four years from the date it is first inserted into the receiver, and there is nothing to pay in between.
Why a UHD receiver, and why now
Fransat is moving its entire platform to the UHD and HEVC standard. Fransat will stop selling and renewing Fransat HD cards after 30 September 2026, which means an HD receiver can only keep running until its current card runs out. The E-SAT 4K is on the new standard from day one. It receives all the existing Fransat HD channels exactly as before, plus France 2 in 4K Ultra High Definition, with further UHD channels expected to follow. Buy this and you are set for the next generation rather than the last one.
Record in UHD and pause live television
Plug a USB hard drive into the port on the back and the E-SAT 4K becomes a recorder. You can record programmes in Ultra High Definition, pause and rewind live television, and set timers from the on screen guide. It runs on 12V, so the same box works in a caravan or motorhome without a converter.

Your dish
Fransat broadcasts from 5 degrees West, which is a different satellite position from the Astra 19.2 East used by TNTSAT. Your dish needs to be aligned to Eutelsat 5 West B. A 60cm Zone 2 mesh dish is the right size for Fransat reception in the UK. If you are not sure what you already have, call us on 01622 535870 before you order and we will talk it through.
